Penrith and District Farmers Mart LLP presented 43 head at the Annual August Show and Sale of Pedigree Dairy Shorthorns, drawn from fifteen leading UK herds.

Judge for the day was Staffordshire breeder Mr Tom Malkin, Cotwalton Farm. All classes of cattle were shown in fine bloom and were presented to a full ringside of customers drawn from a wide area. Prices obtained certainly held their own, with previous sales held at this centre and a 100% clearance was had. The overall average was £1,305.70 including stirks.

Heifers averaged: £1187.50, for 25 (inc. stirks)
