There was a terrific entry of Shorthorns at the Autumn Show and Sale at Leek where prices peaked at £1900.

Judge Tom Malkin did a superb job awarding the Champion to the first placed cow Amber Princess Anne 129 GP81. By Amber Lightening, she had given 6146kg as a heifer. Sold giving 38.2kg she went to Messrs Holdcroft of Sandbach.

However, it was a heifer from the same home Amber Lady Annetta 93 that topped the day at £1900. Also, by Amber Lightening she went to Messrs Howard of Guide, Blackburn.

A fresh heifer from Rob Kite, Cotonhall Bullseye Dairymaid reached £1590. They also had a very pretty 1 month old calf make £580. By Blackwood Park Butternut, she boasted 4 gens VG/EX.
