Winbrook Vi 182 1900gns
Winbrook Vi 182 1900gns

A small but select entry of new calved Dairy Shorthorns at the Penrith Spring sale of Dairy cattle, with entries drawn from Bilbro, Mossrigg, Newpark and Winbrook herds. Quality was very impressive with modern genetics the order of the day. Demand was brisk with top honours going to J Fisher and daughters with a modern unregistered daughter of the American sire Cor Bloo Richochet out of a Blissful Teds Spurgeon daughter, she calved on March 27th and was giving 26 litres daily, she is the first Dairy Shorthorn to join a local Holstein herd. On the day 4 Richochet daughters sold to average an impressive 2073.75!

An interesting entry from Tom Ripley was the traditionally bred Bilbro Vain Lucy 3, sired by Stockwood Lord Barrington 3, she is a direct descendant of a Vain Lucy bought by Oxton from Mulbeck Hall at Penrith in 1947. She calved on March 29th and was giving 24 litres.
